Welcome to the 2013 Montana College Application Week! This is the second year College Application Week is being implemented in Montana. The goal of this initiative is to provide an opportunity during the week of November 11-15, 2013 for all seniors at participating high schools to complete one college application, as well as to promote excitement and enthusiasm about the college exploration and preparation process in your school and community. Many 2-year and 4-year colleges in Montana are deferring or waiving their application fee during College Application Week!

How can schools participate in College Application Week?

  • Designate a site coordinator. Site coordinators must participate in a one-hour orientation.
  • Provide a time during the school day for seniors to complete college applications.
  • Use and display Montana College Application Week promotional materials – posters, wrist bands, stickers, etc. – and college materials.
  • Involve community and higher education volunteers – business, parents, college graduates, college employees, etc. – during the week.
  • Track application data by filling out a brief survey.

How will Montana GEAR UP support participating high schools?

  • Host a one-hour orientation for site coordinators.
  • Provide the site coordinators with a planning toolkit.
  • Provide promotional materials.
  • Host weekly technical assistance conference calls.
  • Promote your school’s activities.

Thank you for helping drive this initiative and we look forward to continuing this tradition across the state for years to come.  Below is some information to help your school and site coordinator make this event a success. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Project Manager, Veronica Willeto, at (406) 281-4411 or vwilleto@montana.edu or OPI Special Projects Director, Terry Kendrick, at (406)444-3449 or tkendrick@mt.gov
