Montana GEAR UP Statewide Summer Camp Opportunities
Two of our high school summer programs are currently open for registration:
- MedStart - MedStart is an exciting opportunity for incoming juniors and seniors interested in exploring the healthcare field. Often times students only think of the healthcare field as “doctors and nurses” but MedStart aims to expose students to a much larger variety of high paying, high demand jobs in the healthcare industry. Students get to stay on Montana University System campuses while learning hands-on job skills to see what it takes to be a healthcare professional. Course work includes: dissection of a sheep’s heart, blood typing, suturing on pigs’ feet, job shadowing, and other medical skills. The camp also includes lots of fun recreational activities.
Missoula: June 14-18
Billings: July 12-16
Butte: July 19-23
Great Falls: August 2-6
Click here for the application and teacher recommendation forms. Application materials are due March 20, 2015. EXTENDED TO MARCH 30!
- Yellowstone Wildlife Ecology Program with Ecology Project International - Are you interested in ways you can turn your love of the outdoors into a professional career? This 5 day camp allows students the opportunity to work directly alongside conservation professionals to conduct wildlife research and explore the ecological, political, and social issues confronting our public and private lands.
Registration can be found at http://www.ecologyproject.org/get_involved/enroll_now and is due by April 1st.
As always, there is no charge for attending Montana GEAR UP Summer Programs. Please contact Katie Meier, College Access Manager, (406) 444-0350 or email@example.com with questions or for more information.
