Admissions

Two-year campuses of the Montana University System (community colleges and colleges of technology) maintain an open admissions policy. High school graduation (or the equivalent) or the recommendation of a student's high school principal and proof of immunization are required for admission.

The four-year programs of the Montana University System have admissions criteria, including completion of a college preparatory core. There are additional criteria for admission to four-year programs, which are described in these policies:

In addition, the Board of Regents requires that students entering four-year programs demonstrate proficiency in mathematics. Beginning in 2007, students will also have to demonstrate writing proficiency for full admission to a four-year program. More information on preparing for college can be found here:
