Lynn Morrison-Hamilton, first appointed to the Board of Regents in February, 1999 by Governor Marc Racicot, was reappointed in January, 2006 to an additional 7 year term by Governor Brian Schweitzer.  Ms. Hamilton is currently the Chair of the Board.

A native of Havre, Montana, Ms. Morrison-Hamilton graduated from The University of Montana in 1974 with a degree in Journalism and double major in Speech Communications. She worked for a Los Angeles advertising agency and television stations in Missoula and Great Falls prior to spending more than 15 years as the Director of University Relations at Montana State University-Northern in Havre.

She has served on the Board of Regent's policy and budget committee, chaired an ad hoc tuition policy committee, served on the nursing committee, and is a former Vice Chair of the Board. She currently chairs the Academic/Student Affairs Committee, and serves on the Workforce Development Committee. Hamilton also serves as chairperson of the Student Assistance Foundation. Regent Hamilton co-chairs the P-20 committee, and is a member of the Indian Education for All Committee of the Board of Education. She is married to Miles Hamilton; they have two children, both attending Montana Universities.
