ITEM 106-300-R-0100 Placement Testing Fee; Flathead Valley Community College

THAT: The Board of Regents of the Montana University System authorizes Flathead Valley Community College to assess a one-time placement testing fee of $10.00 beginning fall 2000, for degree seeking and/or full-time students or any student taking a course for which a placement test is required.

EXPLANATION: Most community colleges have a modest testing fee for initial placement testing. Flathead Valley Community College is in the process of changing to a more sophisticated and costly instrument, which is done entirely on computer. This fee will offset the costs associated with increasing software license fees required for this new generation of tests. The $10.00 fee will cover both placement testing and computer career testing.
