ITEM 108-1001-R0700       Placement of Transmitter in Libby, Montana, to Extend Public Radio Signal to Unserved Area of the State; The University of Montana-Missoula

 

THAT:                                    The Board of Regents of the Montana University System authorizes The University of Montana’s Broadcast Media Center to place a transmitter in Libby, Montana, to extend its public radio signal to this unserved area of the State. 

 

EXPLANATION:                  Libby residents raised more than $15,000 in support of the project.  The University of Montana’s Broadcast Media Center staff supplied the technical/engineering services to get the license application prepared.  The application is pending approval by the FCC.  Sufficient funding is in hand to complete the project.
