ITEM 108-2007-R0900       Authorization to Modify an Existing Modular Facility to Accommodate the Spectrum Lab; Montana State University-Bozeman

 

THAT:                                    The Board of Regents of Higher Education authorizes Montana State University-Bozeman to expend $250,000 to modify an existing modular facility to accommodate the Spectrum Lab.

 

EXPLANATION:                  1.      MSU-Bozeman has a pressing need to provide adequate space to accommodate research programs.  The University has identified a site adjacent to campus to accommodate modular facilities and has completed two modular facilities to date.

 

2.            This project will modify one of the existing modular facilities to accommodate the existing Spectrum Lab research program.

 

3.            The project will be financed wholly with federal funds from research indirect costs and will result in no new programs.  All design, construction and future Operations and Maintenance costs will be from non-state funds.

 

4.            This project requires the approval of the Board of Regents, and the consent of the Governor.
