ITEM 110-1004-R0301������ Approval of Proposal to Add an Option in Nature-Based Tourism to the Bachelor of Science Degree in Recreation Management; The University of Montana-Missoula
THAT:����������������������������������� The Board of Regents of Higher Education authorizes The University of Montana-Missoula to add a new option in Nature-Based Tourism to the Bachelor of Science Degree in Recreation Management.� The current Bachelor of Science in Recreation Management has only one option in Recreation Resources Management.
EXPLANATION:����������������� The Nature-Based Tourism option at The University of Montana-Missoula will enrich research and learning opportunities for students, faculty, and residents of the State and region.� The goal is to develop effective professional participants who successfully integrate tourism decisions with natural resource concerns.� The Nature-Based Tourism option would utilize the teaching, research, and service expertise already housed within The University of Montana-Missoula, particularly those of the School of Forestry.
