ITEM 126-1601-R0305��������������� Authorization to Confer the Title of Professor Emeritus of Health and Human Performance upon Bonnie Sheriff; The University of Montana-Western

 

THAT:������������������������������������� Upon the occasion of the retirement of Bonnie J. Sheriff from the faculty of The University of Montana-Western, the Board of Regents wishes to express its appreciation for her service to the University, to the Montana University System, and to the people of the State of Montana.

 

EXPLANATION:����������������������� Ms. Sheriff, a native of Helena, Montana earned her bachelors degree and her Masters of Science in Education at Montana State University � Bozeman.� Ms. Sheriff has completed 35 years of dedicated service as a faculty member in the Department of Health and Human Performance (HHP) at The University of Montana-Western in Dillon, Montana.� She joined the faculty of Western Montana College in 1970 as Assistant Professor of Health and Physical Education.

 

During her tenure at The University of Montana-Western, Ms. Sheriff has played an active role in curriculum development and design while also serving as Program Coordinator of Health and Human Performance. She has served on numerous University committees including Faculty Senate, Academic Admissions and Standards, Financial Aid Appeals, Wellness, and a wide array of academic search committees as well as coaching the Western Montana College Track Team.� Ms. Sheriff is a long-standing member of the Montana Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance as well as being a life-time member of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.

 

Throughout her career at The University of Montana-Western, Bonnie Sheriff has served The University of Montana-Western and the community with distinction.� Her dedicated service has earned her the respect of her students, colleagues and professional associates.
