ITEM 103-1010-R0599 Information Technology Fee; The University of Montana

THAT: The Board of Regents of the Montana University System authorizes The University of Montana to implement a term oriented mandatory Information Technology Fee at a rate of $3.00 per credit hour ($1.50 per credit hour in the summer) not to exceed twelve credit hours, establishing a maximum cost of $36 per semester ($18 in the summer).

EXPLANATION: The revenue from the Information Technology Fee will be used for the acquisition, renewal, licensing, maintenance, and operations of: campus core and distributed systems, building level hub, switching, and wiring, and the distributed e-mail/media systems for the support of instructional and student programs.

Using FY 2000 enrollment projections, the proposed fee would generate approximately $1,068,857 with a campus distribution of UM-Missoula ($811,736); Montana Tech ($141,171); Western Montana College ($70,586); and Helena College of Technology ($45,364).
