�          FVCC�s FTE for the summer session (both campuses) so far is 195.73.� The total FTE at the end of last summer was 175.37.� The total head count (both campuses) is 680.� The total head count at the end of last summer session (both campuses) was 576.� Another session of online classes is scheduled to begin in August.

�        FVCC Graduate Lorene K. Bishop, has been awarded the Gates Millennium Scholarship, which will fund her education all the way through her doctorate.� �The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation established this initiative to �encourage and support students in completing college and in continuing on to earn masters and doctorate degrees in disciplines where ethnic and racial groups are currently underrepresented.� The grant is funded by the Foundation and administered by the United Negro College Fund and partners, and is aimed at expanding access and opportunity to higher education to those citizens who will help reflect the diverse society in which we live.� (Note � if anyone asks, she is enrolled to complete her Bachelor�s at UM-Missoula and plans on completing her Masters there as well.)

�        FVCC Trustees approved a proposed Web Technology Program, which will prepare students for a career in developing and supporting web pages with an emphasis on the skills required to design, build and oversee web sites for small companies.

�        The FVCC Foundation has received over $3,780,000 in gifts and pledges in conjunction with its, �Connecting for the Community�s Future,� major gifts campaign.� More than $650,000 has been raised for the Foundation�s Scholarship Endowment Fund, far surpassing its goal of $500,000.

�        Dr. Patrick Naughton has been hired as FVCC�s Lincoln County Campus Director, in Libby.

�        Bruce Vincent, co-owner of Vincent Logging, Inc., and President of Communities for a Great Northwest, gave the Commencement at FVCC�s Libby Campus, on May 17th.

�        Mr. William Old Chief, former Chairman of the Blackfeet Tribal Business Council, gave the 32^nd Annual Commencement address at FVCC�s Kalispell Campus, on May 18th.� Dr. Frederick Gilliard was also on hand to confer UGF graduates receiving their Bachelor of Science Degrees in Elementary Education.� This was the first FVCC/UGF joint commencement ceremony.

�        On May 17^th, the FVCC Adult Learning Center held their GED Graduation Recognition Ceremony in Kalispell, and there was also a ceremony at the Libby Campus May 10^th, for students who attended that program.� More than 200 students across Montana completed requirements to receive the Montana High School Equivalency Diploma, and over half of this year�s GED recipients attended preparatory classes at one of the Adult Learning Center locations in the Flathead Valley.

�        FVCC Cross Country runners Mark Manning and Morgan Hamilton were recently named to the NJCAA Division III Cross Country Coaches Association Academic All American Team for the Fall 2000 season.� FVCC�s Men�s Team received Academic All America, Second Team honors for their combine G.P.A. of 3.25 for the Fall 2000 season.

�        FVCC�s Women�s Cross Country Team was also named Academic All American with a combine G.P.A. of 3.76.� Marianne Myers and Brooke Cantu both achieved a 4.0 G.P.A for the fall semester.

�        FVCC Art Instructor, John Rawlings, showed his recent works at the Whitefish Gallery, beginning with his opening, on May 11^th.� �Wallball, Ballwall,� consisted of both two and three-dimensional abstract forms based on a visual illusion.

�        Eric Young, Foreign Service Officer in the Political Section of the U.S. Embassy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, presented, �Global Inequality: A View From Ethiopia,� at the Kalispell Campus on May 7^th.

�        FVCC is now offering Microsoft Office User Specialist� (MOUS) testing for certification at the Kalispell Campus.� This certification is the globally recognized standard for demonstrating desktop skills with the Microsoft Office� suite of business productivity applications.�

�        FVCC Art Photography students held an exhibition of their selected works, entitled, �Of Mind and Machine,� May 12^th� - July 7^th, at the Hockaday Museum of Art.� FVCC Design II students exhibited their three-dimensional artwork in the College Library, including sculptures, life-casts of the human body, and pottery, May 2^nd� - 9^th.

�        FVCC will hold New Student Orientation for approximate 300 new students, on Friday, July 27th, and Wednesday, August 8th.

�        The College has made an offer on approximately 48 acres adjacent to the College�s property and plans to close on the property in early August.

�        FVCC had received 10 proposals from architectural firms throughout Montana and Idaho in response to an RFP published by the College for a new facility that will house instructional as well as student activities.� We are hoping to have a recommendation for the Board of Trustees July meeting, and the RFP called for the completion of the design plan no later than the December Board of Trustees meeting.
