� Hold an unencumbered, active MT license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse. � Have graduated from an approved Practical Nursing education program. � Have completed each Practical Nursing course with a �C� or better. � Meet the specific admission requirements of the institution/program to which s/he is applying

The LPN to ASN Validation course serves both a validation purpose and a transition purpose.� The course validates prior learning, updates and enhances students� knowledge, begins the process of role transition, and prepares them for placement into the AS� RN program.
The receiving institution grants nursing Credit after the student has successfully completed the Validation/Transition Course.
A. Eligibility
Graduates of approved Practical Nursing Education programs.
B. Minimum Credits Awarded
Approximately one years worth of the nursing coursework required by the ASN program receiving institution

The LPN to Baccalaureate RN Validation course serves both a validation purpose and a transition purpose.� The course validates prior learning, updates and enhances students� knowledge, begins the process of role transition, and prepares them for placement into the Baccalaureate program.

A mechanism that recognizes nursing coursework and awards nursing credits based on the successful completion of upper division nursing courses.

Graduates of approved Associate Degree RN Nursing and Diploma RN Nursing Education programs.

X% of the nursing coursework required by the receiving institution for the degree. * |
*�� Actual numbers to be determined after the Baccalaureate programs look at their curriculum and decide number of credits to be awarded to LPN and/or ASN RN programs. Numbers due at next MINT meeting 5/22/02
