Montana Board of Regents meetings are open to the public. There a several ways to participate.

  • Attend a meeting in person. You may provide public comment during the appropriate time or just listen. Agendas and locations are posted on the Board's website a week before each meeting.

  • Watch or listen via live stream. This service is intended for anyone who wishes to observe the meeting but who does not intend to provide comment.

  • Provide live public comment remotely via a Zoom link or by phone.

  • Provide written public comment. 

 

  • Upcoming meetings and meeting locations are posted to the Board's wesbite several weeks before each meeting.
  • Agendas are posted one week before each meeting.
  • The Board's annual meeting schedule is also available.
  • The public is encouraged to attend and provide comment or just listen.
  • Registration is not required.
  • Public comment is limited to 3 minutes. When the Board Chair calls for comment, please approach the podium, be prepared to provide your full name and be as concise as possible.
  • All Board meetings are recorded and live streamed.
  • You do not need to register to observe a meeting via live stream.

  • If you wish to provide comments remotely, please register for Virtual Public Comment.
  • Registration for Public Comment closes at 5:00PM the day before the meeting. Once registered, the remote participant will receive an email containing a Zoom link. Follow the instructions contained in the email.
  • The remote public comment Zoom link is registered to you, individually, and is only valid for one meeting. This link is not to be shared with anyone else.
  • Once the Board Chair opens Public Comment, the Chair will ask remote participants to use the Raise Hand feature to indicate that they wish to provide public comment.
  • For those joining online, please use the Raise Hand button found at the bottom of your screen to indicate that you wish to give public comment. The host will lower hands in order and ask you to unmute. Once unmuted, please state your full name and then proceed with your comment.
  • For those joining by phone, press “*9” to “raise your hand” and press *6 to unmute.  Once unmuted, please state your full name and then proceed with your comment.
  • Please note that the web version of Zoom may not allow participants to raise their hand. Participants are strongly encouraged to use the Zoom App for Windows, Mac, Android, or iOS. If your name on Zoom does not match the name used to register for the meeting, or if you are unable to raise a virtual hand, you may be prevented from providing public comment.
  • Remote comments are limited to 3 minutes.

  • Comments may be submitted in writing, via email, to jcasanovas@montana.edu or sent by mail to 560 N. Park Ave, PO Box 203201 Helena, MT 59620-3201 with Attn: Jasmine Casanovas.
  • Written comments received before or during the meeting will be shared with the Board Members and included as part of the official public record.

Please note: Other than the meeting starting time, times listed on the agenda are approximate.  In addition, agenda items may be rearranged unless an item is listed as having a “time certain.”  Action may be taken on any item listed on the Board or Committee Agendas.
