As mental health becomes an increasingly important part of students’ college experience and student success, the Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education has made student mental health a priority and has undertaken significant work to support that priority.

In collaboration with MUS institutions, OCHE leads system-wide efforts to support student mental health including the development of system-wide recommendations for bettering mental health services and supports, implementation of student and employee suicide prevention training programs, and, under the guidance of Commission Christian, created the MUS Suicide Prevention & Mental Health Task Force.

On this page, you will find more information about some of these efforts, including the YouMatterMUS campaign, the MUS Suicide Prevention & Mental Health Task Force, and the COVID-19 mental health toolkit.
